Joe’s Timpani Hymnbook
This is a collection of timpani parts I’ve written over the years to accompany hymns. Hymn titles are not to be confused with “hymn tune” names. A hymn tune may have several settings, so the familiar melody and harmony can have different texts for various parts of the liturgical calendar. Confused yet? Usually the hymn tune name is shown in the upper or lower corner of the page in the hymnal. All of these are written for 2 drums, and some have a lot of pedaling. To get a copy of a part, email me your request at joe_holmquist@yahoo.com Special thanks to Phil Wagner, Church of St.Mark’s organist (R.I.P.), St. Paul, Minnesota for inspiring me to write and play most of these parts.
